Birthday Party for Jesus
Another year, another birthday celebration in honor of Jesus. 2010 found us celebrating PEACE (our orange flavored fruit of the spirit), donning party hats, smelling the aromatic fragrance of frankincense and myrrh, reading and reflecting on the stories of Jesus' birth, Anna and Simeon, and three visitors following a star, learning the words "bequeathed" and "bearing," making ornaments, decorating and eating cupcakes, and enjoying fellowship with one another, singing Away In a Manger and Silent Night joined by our parents.
Happy Holidays!

Sunday Summary, December 12th
In the month of December the children are learning about Peace as one of the Fruits of the Spirit. Miss Lily read the story of the birth of Jesus to the kids this week.
Afterward, the children were able to make birthday cards for Jesus and draw a picture of what peace means to them.
Their memory verse this week:
1 Corinthians 14:33
For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.
Lastly, the children ate oranges for snack. Orange is our fruit representing peace.
Remember! Next week is our 'Birthday Party for Jesus' during regularly scheduled children's church. Parents are also encouraged to stay a few minutes after the service to join us in some Christmas carols!
