Victory Chant Lyrics

Hello everyone! Here are the lyrics to the song Victory Chant that the children will be singing on Easter Sunday. Please have them learn this the best they can. The soloist will sing each one of these lines and the children will repeat.

Here's an example! Donnie McClurkin... Have them practice with this.

Victory Chant

Hail Jesus! You're my King!
Your life frees me to sing
I will praise You all my days
You're perfect in all Your ways

Hail Jesus! You're my Lord!

I will obey Your word
Because I want to see
Your kingdom come
Not my will by Yours be done

Glory, glory to the Lamb!

You will take us into the land
We will conquer in Your name
And proclaim that "Jesus reigns!"

Hail, hail Lion of Judah!

How wonderful You are!
Hail, hail Lion of Judah!
How powerful You are!

Hail Jesus! You're my King!

Your life frees me to sing
I will praise You all my days
You're perfect in all Your ways

Glory, glory to the Lamb!

You will take us into the land
We will conquer in Your name
And proclaim that "Jesus reigns!

Hail, hail Lion of Judah!

How wonderful You are!
Hail, hail Lion of Judah!
How powerful You are!

He's the Lion in the tribe of Judah

He's the root and the Offspring of David
He's the Lily of the Valley
He's the Bright and the Morning Star

Hail, hail Lion of Judah!

How wonderful You are!
Hail, hail Lion of Judah!
How powerful You are!

The Lion of Judah shall break every chain

and give to us, oh my,
the victory again and again
The Lion of Judah
shall break every chain and give to us,
the victory again and again

Also, we will be doing the Bethel Chant again, so the children could probably use an at home refresher! That is on the CD and the lyrics are on This Post as well as the video.
Let me know if you have any questions

Sunday, March 13th

This past Sunday the children started learning about the fruit of the spirit goodness which is represented by a pear. We sang about goodness and worship. At the end of children's church, some children received badges called 'caught being good' and named an instance that day where they displayed goodness. It was a very tangible way for them to understand goodness.

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life."
Psalm 23:6

This week King's Kids started rehearsing for Easter Sunday. They will be singing Victory Chant (Hail Jesus). Here is a video that they can practice with. The children will repeat and sing after the soloist just like the choir in the video.

Who are we? I'm a Bethelite!

The King's Kidz premiered their new BETHEL CHANT, written by Bethel's own Kim Willingham.

The purpose?
Each year we evaluate what the children have learned. Do they know who Jesus is? Do they know how to model Christian behavior? Are they good stewards of the church? What is Christmas and Easter? This year, we also wanted to be sure that the kids in the Children's Ministry new basic things about our church, like:
  • The name of their church -- Bethel AME Church, founded in 1988
  • Their pastors' names -- Ray Hammond and Gloria White-Hammond
  • The name of their denomination -- African Methodist Episcopal
  • Church history -- Mother Bethel AME Church in Philadelphia, PA, founded in 1794
  • The founder -- Richard Allen, who was born enslaved, taught himself to read and write, started a church and changed our world.
That's a lot for three to seven year olds!

The result:

The children practice each Sunday during children's worship under the tutelage of Jessica Huber, our Children's Music Director, and also at home with their parents (see little James giving an example).

THE LYRICS:

Adult:
Who are we?

Children/All:
I’m a Bethel-Light of Bethel of AME
I go to church and learn about the Christ (God) in ME!
I learn about God and Jesus His son,
How he gave his life for everyone.

I learn the Bible and church history.
African Methodist Episcopal – that’s A-M-E.

It started waaaaaay back in 1794.
Richard Allen, born a slave, becaaaame much more.
He learned to write. He learned to read.
He studied the Bible. God’s children he’d lead.

He started a church in Philly, P-A.
Mother Bethel AME still stands today.

In 1988 Bethel Boston was birthed
by Pastors Ray and Glo(ria) to spread love on earth!

I’m a Bethel-Light and as you can see
A joint heir to the greatest legacy!*
